Riding On Angels' Wings (ROAW) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose goal is to strengthen, empower and educate individuals with physical, cognitive, behavioral and emotional disabilities through partnerships with equine.
ROAW was founded in 2002 by Bette Shipley, a mother of a child with Cerebral Palsy and Congenital Heart Defects. After seeing the physical benefits riding a horse had on her son, DJ, she desired to offer therapeutic horseback riding to other children with disabilities. The program received its non profit 501(c)3 status in 2006.
